The Best Viewpoints of Cadaqués

A guided tour of the most spectacular vistas on the Cap de Creus

Cadaqués is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful villages on the Costa Brava and indeed the entire Mediterranean. Nestled in the heart of the Cap de Creus Natural Park, its landscape of schist rock, cork oaks, ancient olive trees and an intensely blue sea has made it a refuge for artists, poets and travellers from all over the world. Salvador Dalí, who lived for decades at nearby Port Lligat, called it “the most beautiful place in the world.” But Cadaqués is not experienced solely from its promenade or its beach: its viewpoints offer unique perspectives that reveal the scale and singularity of this extraordinary corner of north-eastern Catalonia. This guide proposes five exceptional vantage points not necessarily in a set order for discovering Cadaqués from above, from its edges, from its cliffs and from its history.

We recommend combining this viewpoint route with a walk along the Cadaqués seafront promenade, a visit to the Dalí House-Museum at Port Lligat (advance booking essential) and a swim at one of the coves in the Cap de Creus Natural Park.
